Musings

The art of persuasion

Prefer to listen rather than read? Here’s the audio version of this blog:

Don't be flat, don't be too sharp, just be natural.

It's finding your authentic voice, finding a place in yourself where you can just speak your truth, where you sit in balance, where your mood doesn't make you so flat that you can't see clearly or where a compulsion to be defensive makes you so sharp that you can't see clearly either.

What you have to say matters, don’t overthink it

It's about being enveloped in a place of safety; knowing that your voice has validity and knowing that what you have to express matters. When you get to that place you can deliver your truth with honesty and it's that honesty that the people who are listening will resonate with. It's the art of persuasion; it's telling the truth that is connected to your heart, not expressing what you think you should express but saying what flows naturally from you. When you express your truth, it resonates with other people who speak their truth too.

How to find your voice to speak your truth

It also resonates with people who, for whatever reason, are unable to speak their truth.  That might be a lack of confidence, it might be a restrictive set of rules,  it might be fear, it might be your position in the world but whatever stage you are at in your life, try and dig deep. Use your breath slowly and deeply as it will enhance your mental focus. Appreciate as much as you can around you and seek to find your natural voice.

Don't be flat don't be too sharp, just be natural...
